Hello! My name is Madeline (sometimes 'Maddie') Dabbah. I'm 21 years old and am from the San Francisco Bay Area, California. In September 2022, I moved to London to study History and Politics (Honours) at City St. George's, University of London. I am due to graduate in July 2025.  

Since I was a young girl, writing has been my passion. At age 12, I began writing my own speeches and participating in debate competitions. Throughout my teenage years, I was an intern for one of my local county's newsletters and captain of my school's Mock Trial team. At university, I was a student writer for the institution's student publication, Carrot Magazine. 

These experiences have greatly contributed to the improvement of my writing, editorial, speaking, and critical thinking skills. As a student of History and Politics, I find particular interest in researching and composing pieces related to international political and economic affairs. 

 I plan to obtain a UK Graduate Visa, which permits my stay in the country for an additional two years to search for sponsored employment. As of June 2025, I am  looking for internships, graduate schemes, and/or full-time employment within the journalism and media industries. This portfolio aims to provide a space for employers and recruiters to view my current and previous work. 

In my free time, I work as a bartender at a pub and occasionally lifeguard. I also enjoy visiting museums, journalling, swimming, travelling, and hanging out with my friends and family.
